Why do we care about Shakespeare today?

As part of the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events Year of Creative Youth, CYS is hosting a creative contest for Chicago high school students!

Students are invited to create a piece of art that responds to the prompt "Why do we still care about Shakespeare today?". Any art form is accepted, from sonnets to spoken word, paintings to prose!

Email your submission with the subject line "CONTEST SUBMISSION" to evelyn@chicagoyouthshakespeare.org (as an attachment, or send a link!).

Submission will be shared on CYS's social media to celebrate the enduring legacy of Shakespeare on the anniversary of his birth (and our fifth birthday, too)! Our favorites will be published on our website, and one first-place winner will win a cash prize of $100!
