Who Was Joan of Arc?
A fascinating article by Evey Reidy, (beloved former CYS teaching artist and Director of Community Engagement), written for Shakespeare's Globe.
CYS ♥️s Chicago!
The Windy City tends to get a bad rap - particularly when times are tough everywhere.
No Tricks, Few Treats
The Broadway League last month announced that it would continue the suspension of all ticket sales for Broadway performances in New York City through May 30, 2021. “‘With nearly 97,000 workers who rely on Broadway for their livelihood and an annual economic impact of $14.8 billion to the city (NYC), our membership is committed to re-opening as soon as conditions permit us to do so,’ Charlotte St. Martin, president of the Broadway League, which represents producers, stated in the release.” (USA Today, October 9, 2020)
A Conversation w/ Actor & Friend, Peter Jacobson
Most folks know Peter Jacobson from his work in film and TV - including roles like Dr. Chris Taub on House, Proxy Snyder on USA's Colony, Rabbi Jacob Kessner on Fear of the Walking Dead, and many, many more.
To me, Peter is not only an actor whose work I seriously admire and respect, but he also happens to be one of my oldest friends. We were high school classmates together at Francis W. Parker, where Peter first caught the "acting bug" doing a production of Romeo and Juliet our senior year.
Our Zoom conversation, guided mostly by questions from CYS students, gives us an inside look at Peter's work, his process, his time at Brown and Juilliard, and how his journey as an actor began with The Bard. Huge thanks to my dear friend for taking the time to share so much, and for making me laugh, as always. Enjoy!
